Richard Hurt started as a 1-man-band furniture company making fitted kitchens and bedrooms. In 1994 he progressed from using overhead pin routers to CNC routers and soon found his skills in demand from the industrial sector. At this point the company quickly grew and changed its name from Richard Hurt Woodwork to Cutting Edge Woodwork and since then we have constantly upgraded machine tools, software and scanning equipment. We started working with steel fabricators and engineering companies and our product range rapidly grew as we provided cost effective + much better quality goods to replace their fabricated units.

Most of our workforce have been with us many years and are loyal and enthusiastic. They are highly skilled and have a wealth of knowledge and experience. We still value traditional joinery skills and have a deep understanding of wood, its qualities, strengths and weaknesses.
